WHO WE ARE

Border Blasting Pty Ltd was established in 1992 by Craig Schulz, a qualified engineer specialising in general repairs, abrasive blasting and coating systems. 

In 1995, Craig developed his innovative pipe coating system for centre pivots after meeting a local farmer whose irrigation system had major corrosion problems. After rebuilding the main pipes, Craig learned that the farmer did not want them galvanised, so he had to find an alternative solution to prevent the pipes corroding in the future.

After a lot of research into protective coatings, Craig decided to grit blast the pipes both externally and internally, so a special non-corrosive epoxy coating could be applied. The outsides of the pipes could be grit blasted using standard means, but the insides proved more of a challenge.

Craig solved the problem by purpose-building a spin blast machine, specifically designed for grit blasting the interiors of pipes in a safe and effective way.

Border Blasting has gone from strength to strength, providing innovative pipe repair, blasting and coating solutions. We have rebuilt and protected many makes and models of centre pivot systems, including Zimmatic, Valley and Southern Cross.
